Outdoor Mark Making Kit Review
The Outdoor Mark Making Kit arrived in a large plastic box with a lid which was ideal for storing the equipment and easily storing after use. The contents of the kit included spray bottles, texture printers, large brushes and a pack of smaller brushes, patterned rollers, some squeezy bottles and some small droppers.
This set is perfect for doing painting activities on a large scale outdoors or inside and would have been nice to have had a set of starter paints and paper roll to go with it so that it was immediately ready for use. The equipment was easy to handle for little hands and robust enough to last for a long time! I would have used some larger droppers and saved the smaller brushes for use indoors, but overall this is an excellent product.
How it can be used with the EYFS Curriculum:
Personal, Social & Emotional Development
- Children will feel good about what they create using this kit and it will help build their self-esteem, they can take part collectively or individually.
Communication & Language
- Children can discuss what they create and use new words learned such as print, brush, roll, squeeze and drop, squirt and spray.
Physical Development
- Using gross and fine motor skills to use the equipment helps with physical development.
Literacy
- Stories about painting and creating can be used with this kit and it can also be used to create pictures or make scenes to go with the stories.
Maths
- Creating number lines or patterns with the rollers will help with mathematical concepts.
Understanding The World
- Use the stampers and rollers to make prints and replicate cultural prints and paintings.
Expressive Art & Design
- Be creative and have fun exploring the process of art and crafts, interpreting their own style and imaginations.
