What better way to celebrate the colourful Autumn season than to decorate your setting with this colourful leaf garland! This simple craft is a great way to introduce discussions about the seasons change to your little ones and can be used to bring an Autumnal feel into any environment.
To make your Leaf Garland you will need:
- Coloured paper or card (why not ask your little ones to select the autumnal colours to spark discussion and learning)
- A hole punch
- String
- Pencil
To create your garland:
- Start by drawing an outline of a leaf onto your coloured card. Remember, leaves come in all shapes and sizes! Repeat until you have a pile of different coloured leaves.
- Add veins to your leaves on both sides (you could do this with your pencil or use coloured pencil or even add glitter!)
- Punch a hole in either end of your leaf
- Thread string through the two holes and repeat with all your leaves until you have a long garland.
- Cut your string and voila!
